Family report of the federal government
The Family Report of the Federal Government is a series of reports published by the German Federal Government since 1968 . Each report is a scientific review and compilation of family-specific topics and developments in a current context and consists of the presentation of an independent expert commission and a related statement by the Federal Government.
The publication of the family reports is based on a decision of the Bundestag in 1965.

On July 11, 2018, Federal Family Minister Franziska Giffey appointed the Expert Commission to draw up the Ninth Family Report.
Similar or comparable reports
In addition to the federal government's family report, an annual family report is planned, which was first published in 2009. Regional family reports from cities or countries are also issued. In addition, a report for children and young people and a report for the elderly are published in each legislative period .
A similar tradition exists in Austria: since 1969 the Austrian Family Report has been published every ten years .
