Hans Bertram (born July 8, 1946 in Soest ) is a German sociologist .

Life

Hans Bertram studied sociology, psychology and law at the Universities of Münster and Mannheim from 1968 to 1973 . In 1976 he received his doctorate at the University of Düsseldorf, and in 1981 he completed his habilitation in Heidelberg . From 1981 to 1984 he was professor of sociology at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and until 1993 board member and scientific director of the German Youth Institute eV 1986 he was appointed to the chair of sociology at the University of Trier. Since 1992 he has been a professor and chair holder of microsociology at the Humboldt University in Berlin. From 1998 to 1999 he was a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University , in 2001 at the Hanse Wissenschaftskolleg , and in 2014 at the re: work International Research Center: Work and Curriculum Vitae in Global History, Humboldt University.

Hans Bertram is a member of various organizations, some of which he also holds honorary positions. In 2017, the Federal President awarded him the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.

He is married to Professor Birgit Bertram and has three grown sons.
