Hans Bertram

Hans Bertram (born July 8, 1946 in Soest ) is a German sociologist .

Life

Hans Bertram studied sociology, psychology and law at the Universities of Münster and Mannheim from 1968 to 1973 . In 1976 he received his doctorate at the University of Düsseldorf, and in 1981 he completed his habilitation in Heidelberg . From 1981 to 1984 he was professor of sociology at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and until 1993 board member and scientific director of the German Youth Institute eV 1986 he was appointed to the chair of sociology at the University of Trier. Since 1992 he has been a professor and chair holder of microsociology at the Humboldt University in Berlin. From 1998 to 1999 he was a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University , in 2001 at the Hanse Wissenschaftskolleg , and in 2014 at the re: work International Research Center: Work and Curriculum Vitae in Global History, Humboldt University.

Hans Bertram is a member of various organizations, some of which he also holds honorary positions. Among other things, he was editor of the Berlin Journal for Sociology , Chairman of the Commission for Research into Social and Political Change in the New Federal States (KSPW eV), Member of the Commission for the Eighth Youth Report of the German Bundestag, the Future Commission Society 2000 of the State of Baden- Württemberg, the Commission on Family and Demographic Change of the Robert Bosch Foundation, the Enquête Commission of the Saxon State Parliament Demographic development and its effects on the areas of life of the people in the Free State of Saxony as well as its consequences for the political fields of action , the working group on demographic change at the Federal President, in the academic field Advisory Board for Collaborative Research Centers at the German Research Foundation , in the Council of the German Society for Sociology, Chairman of the Commission for the Seventh Family Report of the German Bundestag and the Advisory Board for Family Policy of the Bran state government denburg . Hans Bertram is currently a member of the Agenda group in the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth, the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina (since 2007), the German Committee for UNICEF (since 2006), the Board of Trustees of the McDonald's Children's Aid Foundation and the Commission Subsidiarity in the postmodern society of the Robert Bosch Stiftung . In 2017, the Federal President awarded him the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.

He is married to Professor Birgit Bertram and has three grown sons.
