Beringel is a municipality of Freguesia in Portugal in the district and district of Beja , with an area of 15 km² and 1301 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). This results in a population density of 86.5 inhabitants / km².
Beringel used to be the capital of its own district between 1519 and 1839 .
