Ringers from Kotzau

Beringer von Kotzau (* before 1540; † 1575 ) was Brandenburg-Kulmbach bailiff von Streitberg , bailiff von Thierstein and captain on the mountain .

Beringer came from the younger main line of the von Kotzau family with half of the headquarters in today's Oberkotzau and the castle in Fattigau . According to the genealogist Alban von Dobenck , the younger main line was founded by Friedrich, son of Hans von Kotzau . Hans Berthold, Beringer, David and Ernst are sons of Georg Wolf von Kotzau . According to Johann Gottfried Biedermann , Beringer is said to have been married to Amalie von Fronhofen.

Beringer and his brother Ernst were registered as students at the University of Leipzig in 1540 . From 1551 he was bailiff in Streitberg , from 1567 at the latest he was bailiff in Thierstein (see also Sechsämterland ) and from 1568 to 1572 administrator of the main man's position on the mountain.
