Bermersbach is a district of Gengenbach in the Ortenaukreis in Baden-Württemberg . It has been a district since 1975 and before that it gave its name to the "three valleys community" Bermersbach, to which, in addition to Bermersbach itself, the villages of Wingerbach , Strohbach and Fußbach belonged.

Bermersbach is 3 km southwest of Gengenbach at 223 meters above sea level on the edge of the central Black Forest .
The community is a scattered settlement, consisting of several rows of individual farms and groups of farms linked to the valleys.
history
The community emerged as a clearing settlement of the Gengenbach Abbey around the 14th century. Bermersbach was first mentioned in 1361 as Beringersbach, from 1420 as Bermgesbach. Even then, Bermersbach and Strohbach were planted with vines and thus grew into pure wine-growing villages.
Bermersbach belonged to the territory of the imperial city of Gengenbach with its own home castles and governor . In 1803 Bermersbach became a politically independent municipality, as all imperial cities and imperial abbeys of the Ortenau were dissolved by the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss and passed into the care of the Margraviate of Baden . On January 1, 1975, the community of Bermersbach was again incorporated into Gengenbach.
