Bernal is a place in the northwest of the Partidos Quilmes in the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina . It is located in the southeast of the Gran Buenos Aires metropolitan area , directly north of the actual Quilmes .
history
The name Bernal comes from an influential family who probably settled in the area around Buenos Aires during the colonial times. Pedro Bernal, who lived in the Quilmes district, divided part of his property into small parcels in 1850. This year is now considered to be the founding date of Bernal.

Of the 109,914 inhabitants, 76,499 lived in the district of Bernal Oeste (West Bernal) and 33,415 in Bernal Este (East Bernal) in 2001 . Bernal is the second largest city of Quilmes and owns 21% of the population of this partidos.
