Bernard Lacoste

Bernard Lacoste (born June 22, 1931 in Paris , † March 21, 2006 ibid) was a French fashion designer and entrepreneur .

Life

The son of Rene Lacoste , the founder of the fashion company Lacoste , graduated from the Princeton University in the United States the Bachelor of Science . From February 1954 to February 1956 he was a lieutenant in the French Air Force . From 1956 to 1963 he worked for General Motors in France .

From 1964 he was head of the world-famous family company Lacoste . When he took over, around 300,000 items of clothing were produced each year . In 2005 it was nearly 50 million sold in 110 countries. In total, the company had sales of about one billion US dollars.

In September 2005, he handed over management to his brother Michel Lacoste for health reasons. Six months later he died after a serious illness at the age of 74.
