Bernard Van De Kerckhove (born July 8, 1941 in Moeskroen , † September 15, 2015 in Bruges ) was a Belgian cyclist .
Athletic career
Bernard Van De Kerckhove was a professional from 1961 to 1971 and scored a total of 29 wins during that time. He started for the teams Solo, Pelforth and Faema, among others. In 1964 he won a section each of the Critérium du Dauphiné and from Paris-Nice , in the following year the Omloop race of the Flemish Ardennes-Ichtegem and a year later the Stadsprijs Geraardsbergen . Outstanding successes of his career were stage victories in the Tour de France . In 1964 he won a stage, wore the yellow jersey for three days and was 57th overall. In 1965 he won a stage, drove in yellow for two days, but gave up during the ninth stage.
After his active career, Van De Kerckhove became the organizer of the Three Days of De Panne-Koksijde (Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde) race and in 2005 President of Veloclub De Panne .
Bernard Van De Kerckhove died on September 15, 2015 at the age of 74 as a result of an operation.
