Bernd Dennemarck

Bernd Dennemarck (born September 13, 1964 in Nuremberg ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and professor of canon law at the theological faculty of Fulda and diocesan judge for the diocese of Eichstätt .

Life

After graduating from high school, Dennemarck studied German literature, history and philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and Catholic theology at the Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . In 1995 he received the sacrament of ordination in Eichstätt . Before he was appointed assistant to the Episcopal Vicariate in Eichstätt in 1997, he worked as a chaplain in Schwabach . In 2001 he became a licentiate of canon law , in 2005 the doctor doctorate in canon law. Since 2002 Dennemarck has been vicar at the Hohen Dom in Eichstätt as well as diocesan judge at the official office , assessor in the arbitration and conciliation bodies and member of the staff of the Episcopal Commissioner for Cases of Sexual Abuse of Minors in the Diocese of Eichstätt. From 2005 to 2006 he was the deputy diocesan administrator in the diocese of Eichstätt. Between 2007 and 2010 he was Episcopal Vicar and Chairman or Deputy Chairman of the Foundation Board of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

Dennemarck taught canon law between 2009 and 2013 at the Philosophical-Theological University of Benediktbeuern . On October 24, 2012, he completed his habilitation at the Chair of Canon Law of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . He then took on professorships in Vienna, Eichstätt and Bochum. Since 2013 he has been a lecturer for Eastern Church Law at the Institute for Canon Law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster , and since the 2015/16 winter semester he has been visiting professor at the Philosophical-Theological University of Vallendar . With effect from April 1, 2017, he was appointed to the chair for canon law at the theological faculty in Fulda. Dennemarck is a member of the Working Group for Catholic Church Law in the Federal Republic of Germany .
