Bernd Fittkau

Bernd Fittkau (born June 26, 1942 in Hamburg ) is a German humanistic psychologist . From 1973 to 2005 he was professor for educational psychology and counseling at the University of Göttingen . He has four grown children.

Career

In 1960, Bernd Fittkau was German youth team champion in the pentathlon . At the University of Hamburg he studied mathematics and psychology , the latter he graduated in 1968 with a diploma. From 1968 to 1973 he was a research assistant and lecturer at Reinhard Tausch's chair at the University of Hamburg. In 1969 he graduated with the investigation areas of teacher conduct and their importance to the cooperation, sympathy and fear responses of students to "VIDEO" - and "LIFE" - teachers to Dr. phil. From 1970 he developed and implemented together with Friedemann Schulz von ThunCommunication training for managers. After his cumulative habilitation , Bernd Fittkau was professor for educational psychology and counseling at the University of Göttingen from 1973 to 2005 . In addition, he has additional training in various counseling-relevant procedures in humanistic psychology (client-centered talk therapy , gestalt therapy and hypnotherapy ).

Scientific activity

The focus of his scientific work are communication psychology , methods of communication training, resource-activating counseling methods, executive coaching , team development , process-oriented project management , value management, balance in the third stage of life. From this in particular:

  • Development of the first German-language test to assess the behavior of superiors by employees (FVVB 1971); Development of an anxiety questionnaire for students (AFS)
  • Scientific advisory board for the pre-school program Sesame Street
  • Joint development and implementation of a curriculum for “pedagogical advice” including the creation of a corresponding main focus in the master’s degree.
