Bernd Hubert (born February 18, 1952 ) is a former German soccer player. For BSG Chemie Leipzig and Chemie Böhlen he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football, in the 1970s and 1980s .

Athletic career

Before Bernd Hubert switched to higher-class football, he played with SG LVB Leipzig in the fourth-class Leipzig district class . At the beginning of the 1970/71 season, he joined the top division chemistry Leipzig at the age of 18. There he was first used in the 2nd team, which played in the second-rate GDR league . Hubert played 14 of the 30 point games played there and with his six goals was one of the team's most successful strikers. In May 1971 he had to do 18 months of military service in the National People's Army . From November 1972 he was again available to the BSG Chemie Leipzig and now played his first games in the top division. After he was initially called up in the district league team of Chemistry II, he came on the 17th league game day as a substitute for the first time in the first team. In another seven league games, Hubert was in the starting line-up as a striker. As a result, he was officially nominated for the league team for the 1973/74 season. He was used in five league games at the beginning of the season, after which he only played twice in the league between longer breaks. Instead, he played several games with the 2nd team in the district league. In the summer of 1974, Chemie Leipzig was determined to be relegated from the league. But even in the GDR league season 1974/75 Hubert could not gain a foothold in the first team. He only made four point games with two goals and only played two of the eight promotion games in which chemistry secured promotion. Hubert played mainly in the district league again, where he excelled as a goal scorer in the 2nd team. In the league season 1975/76 he was able to increase his stakes significantly. In the 26 league games he was called up 16 times, where he was in the starting line-up in ten games. But this time he had his worst hit record in the 1st team with just one goal. After only one season, Chemie Leipzig had to relegate again in 1976. Hubert then left Leipzig and moved to the GDR league club Chemie Böhlen. This made it into the league in the 1976/77 season, in which Hubert was involved with stakes in all 28 point and promotion games and with 17 goals. Also in the league season 1977/78 he played all point games and was the team's second best scorer with six goals. In 1978/79 he scored five goals and was only absent from one league game. After this season, Böhlen had to leave the league again and developed into an elevator team for the next few seasons with an annual change between league and league. Until 1983 Hubert was a regular player as a striker and managed to miss only one point game in the four seasons. Of the 16 promotion games, he played 14 games and continued to be a reliable goalscorer with a total of 20 goals each season. Hubert spent his last season in the GDR-wide league in 1983/84 with Chemie Böhlen in the GDR league. He was called up again in ten of 22 league games and scored four goals. As a 32-year-old, he then ended his career as a competitive footballer, having played 133 league games (21 goals), 92 GDR league games (34 goals) and 24 league promotion games (10 goals) between 1970 and 1984.
