Bernd Matthies

Bernd Matthies (* 1953 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and author. He has been an editor at Tagesspiegel since 1983 and deals with the media and especially the culinary arts .

Life

Bernd Matthies studied economics and sociology , followed by training at the Henri Nannen School in Hamburg . He was a police reporter, then a local political correspondent at Schöneberg Town Hall . Since 1983 he has been an editor at Tagesspiegel in Berlin   and was also deputy head of department there. He is also an employee of RBB-Kulturradio .

He has been a restaurant critic at Tagesspiegel since 1988 . He wrote his own column “Matthies war essen” from 2004 to 2010 in Essen & Trinken . Then he continued the blog of the same name "Matthies war essen" in the Tagesspiegel .

In 2007 he was on the jury of the “Berlin Master Chefs”.
