Bernd Sandrock

Bernd Sandrock (born August 1, 1955 ) was a soccer player who played for 1. FC Magdeburg in the GDR Oberliga , the highest East German soccer class.

At the age of 20, Sandrock was used for the first time in the 1st team of 1. FC Magdeburg, it was the last sixteen game of the GDR soccer cup on November 22, 1975 at Energie Cottbus (3-0 for Magdeburg). He had his first appearance in the league three weeks later on the 12th match day of the 1975/76 season when he played the full 90 in the league game 1. FCM - Hallescher FC (1: 1) as a right defender and substitute for Bodo Sommer who was not ready for action Minutes played. Sandrock kept this position for the full playing time up to the 16th matchday and came in his first league season to five league stakes. In the 1976/77 season Sandrock was only used three times in the league, played between the 5th and 8th matchday twice 90 and once 13 minutes. However, he was also used in the two European Cup games against Dinamo Zagreb (2nd main round, 2-0, 2-2). Sandrock played his last four league games in the 1977/78 season, including three more 90-minute appearances. There was also another European Cup match at Odra Opole (2-1 for FCM). For the 1978/79 season Sandrock was downgraded to the junior team.

In the summer of 1979 Sandrock left 1. FC Magdeburg and moved together with his teammate Peter Kohde to the second division Stahl Blankenburg , where the former FCM player Jörg Ohm worked as a coach. Sandrock played in Blankenburg for two years, then in 1981 he went to BSG activist Gommern , which played in the third-class district league Magdeburg . After that, Sandrock did not return to higher-class football.
