Bernd Schmidt (journalist)

Bernd Schmidt (* 1951 in Bergneustadt ) is a German journalist and university professor .

Life

Schmidt studied from 1972 English, American, journalism, sociology and European ethnology at the universities of Mainz , Marburg and at the University of Leicester . His doctorate took place in 1981.

In the 1980s he worked as a journalist for the Hessischer Rundfunk for the radio show “Unterwegs in Hessen”, and later he was responsible for the Hessenschau and acted as a presenter there. He also worked for SAT1 and NDR .

In 1988 he was appointed professor at the Hanover University of Music, Theater and Media . In 2001 he moved to the Georg-August University of Göttingen , from 2006 to the University of Hanover , where he helped to develop the public relations course from 2001 .
