Bernd Schneider (classical philologist)

Bernd Schneider (born March 15, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German classical philologist who was Professor of Classical Philology (Latin) at the University of Osnabrück from 1984 to 2009.

Bernd Schneider studied classical philology at the Free University of Berlin and in 1969 at Paul Moraux with the dissertation Latin Greek The medieval translations of Aristotle's Rhetoric doctorate . His habilitation took place in 1975 at the Free University of Berlin. In 1984 he went to the Technical University of Berlin as an adjunct professor . In 1987 he moved to the University of Osnabrück as a full professor of Classical Philology (Latin) , initially at the Vechta location . In summer 2009 he retired.
