Bernd Tödte

Bernd Tödte (born September 14, 1944 in Birnbaum in Posen ) is a German engineer and former Vice-President of the Federal Patent Court .

Career

Bernd Tödte studied mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and was active in the Corps Friso-Cheruskia Karlsruhe , which reciprocated him in 1967. After that he worked for the Technical Inspection Association (TÜV) in Northern Germany for two years . This was followed by a four-year teaching post for mechanical engineering at the Universidad Tecnológica in Pereira ( Colombia ) from 1977 to 1981 . After that, from March 16, 1981, he worked for the German Patent and Trademark Office for twelve years as an examiner and group leader in a patent department. On December 10, 1993, he was appointed to the Federal Patent Court for the first time as a judge. During this time, Tödte was a member of the 34th Technical Board of Appeal as an assessor. In 1996 he returned to the administration and then became department head, department president and then director at the patent and trademark office. Then he was again appointed to the Federal Patent Court, this time as Vice President of the court. He held this office for five years from May 5, 2004 to September 30, 2009. Then Tödte retired.
