Norbert Haugg

Norbert Viktor Haugg (born January 26, 1935 in Lauingen (Danube) ) is a German engineer.

Career

Haugg studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and graduated in 1962 with a degree in engineering. After working in the private sector, he came to the German Patent Office in 1967 . From 1983 to 1986 he was a judge at the Federal Patent Court , was appointed presiding judge in 1988 and was vice-president from June 1991 to July 31, 1995.

In August 1995 he succeeded Erich Häußer as President of the German Patent Office at the suggestion of Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger . He retired at the end of January 2000.
