Bernd Wehrenberg (born January 25, 1949 in Sulingen- Feldhausen) is a former German national volleyball player .
Life and sporting success
The Sulingen high school student first came into contact with volleyball at the age of 15 and actively played for TuS Sulingen. During his pedagogy studies, he moved to the 1st VC Hannover in 1968 and was runner-up in 1969 with this club. Wehrenberg was appointed to the junior national team, belonged to the core Olympic team and thus to the German national team.
His other stations were MTV Celle and SSF Bonn , for which he won the German championship in 1974. After moving to Hamburger SV , he won the German championship with this team in 1976 . An ankle injury forced him to resign. After his recovery, Wehrenberg made it to the Bundesliga with MTV Celle in 1981-83. As a senior athlete, he played again in 2014 for GfL Hannover at German championships.
Wehrenberg was a member of national volleyball teams a total of 83 times, 49 of them in the senior national team for the German Volleyball Association. The high school teacher in Lüneburg is married without children. He is committed to promoting youth in volleyball and was able to win various national titles in the national competition "Youth trained for the Olympics".
