Bernd das Brot is a TV series by KiKA around the eponymous character Bernd das Brot . The title song Wie ein Brot was sung by Dirk Bach .

In the series, Bernd das Brot inherits the house of his missing uncle Bornelf Brot in an upscale and stuffy residential area. Bernd's supposed friends Briegel and Chilli also move into the house after they have "asked Bernd nicely". Because of the unusual hobbies and interests of Chilli und Briegel, especially because of Briegel's inventions, they regularly have trouble with the neighbors, especially with the meticulous Dr. Dr. Potzler, who doesn't like Bernd, Chilli and Briegel because she was accidentally thrown cream cake during one of her stunts by Chilli during the housewarming party. Her husband Günther, who collects Spreewald garden gnomes , is subordinate to her and her daughter Anastasia has to practice the violin for four hours a day because of her . Almost every time, Bernd has to bear the consequences for the activities of Chilli und Briegel.
A running gag was that the moody policeman Budimschitsch regularly showered Bernd with parking tickets or literally papered his kitchen with them, which became commonplace over time.
