Bernhard Blumenfeld

Bernhard Blumenfeld (* 14. May 1846 in Burgsteinfurt as Baruch Blumenfeld ; † 9. April 1919 in Hamburg ) was a German Wholesale - merchant and shipowner .

In 1871, Blumenfeld opened as the sole owner a coal trade called agency and commission business in mining products, ferrous metals, coal etc. in Hamburg, which developed into an important company and its own shipping company with a focus on shipping and fuel trading in the Hanseatic city. Blumenfeld was one of the largest coal exporters in Hamburg.

One of his sons was Otto Blumenfeld , and one grandson was Erik Blumenfeld . His daughter Clara Blumenfeld worked as a painter and illustrator.
