Bernhard Dombek

Bernhard Dombek (born February 5, 1939 in Berlin ) is a lawyer in Berlin. Until 2009 he was also a notary . From 1999 to 2007 he was President of the Federal Bar Association (BRAK).

biography

Dombek attended the Canisius College in Berlin . After studying law at the Free University of Berlin from 1960 to 1964, the second state examination in law and his doctorate in 1968 ( The Relationship of the Tübingen School to German Legal Sociology ), he settled in his hometown as a lawyer, focusing on social and Specializes in inheritance law. Bernhard Dombek is married to the former NJW co-editor Ingeborg Rakete-Dombek, Jim Rakete's sister .

Awards

In October 2001 Dombek was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin for his services to "the growing together of the legal profession in East and West Germany", especially in Berlin. On September 14, 2007, Dombek received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class , on his departure as President of the Federal Bar Association, primarily for his efforts to come to terms with the history of the Jewish legal profession in the Third Reich and for his commitment to the relationship between German and Israeli lawyers today receive.
