Axel C. Filges

Axel C. Filges (* 1947 in Hamburg ) is a German lawyer and was President of the Federal Bar Association from 2007 to 2015 .

Life

Filges studied law in Hamburg , Frankfurt and Cologne . In 1975 he was admitted to the bar. Since 1980 he has been a partner in the major law firm now trading under the name Taylor Wessing . Filges has been a specialist lawyer for labor law since 1989 .

In 1998 Filges founded the European Employment Lawyers Association in London . He was President of the Hanseatic Bar Association and Vice President of the Federal Bar Association. In September 2007 he was elected President of the Federal Bar Association to succeed Bernhard Dombek .

He is married and has two children.
