Bernhard Ernst (politician)

Bernhard Ernst (born February 28, 1961 in Salzburg ; † December 8, 2012 in Seefeld in Tirol ) was an Austrian management consultant and politician. From 1994 to 1999 Ernst was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament for the Greens and from 2008 to 2012 a member of the FRITZ Citizens' Forum in the state parliament.

education and profession

Ernst attended elementary school in Hochfilzen and the grammar school in St. Johann in Tirol before he switched to the federal upper level high school in Salzburg and completed the educational school of the diocese of Innsbruck in Pfaffenhofen . From 1981 Ernst worked as an educator and boarding school manager and between 2002 and 2008 was self-employed with an office for communication. In addition, between 2004 and 2008, Ernst worked as a management consultant in the core areas of strategy and communication architecture. On July 1, 2008, he completed the dormant report of the business consultancy and advertising agency and has been a full-time politician since then.

Bernhard Ernst was a member of numerous citizens' initiatives at local and national level - on the following topics: the fight against waste incineration and against large waste dumps, solving the transit problem, resistance to the construction of power plants in the Lechtal, commitment to the school integration of children with disabilities. From 1992 to 2001 Ernst was a member of the JUF list in Inzing . Between April 5, 1994 and March 30, 1999, he represented the Tyrolean Greens as a member of the state parliament, but resigned from the party in 2000. In 2004 he moved back to the Inzing City Council with the free citizens' list “For Inzing”. In the 2008 state elections in Tyrol, he was involved in the list of Fritz Dinkhauser - Bürgerforum Tirol, whose election campaign he managed. After the election on July 1, 2008, Ernst was sworn in as a member of the FRITZ - Bürgerforum Tirol list and its club chairman in the Tyrolean state parliament.

Private

Ernst was born the second of five children and grew up in Fieberbrunn and Hochfilzen. He was married, had three sons (born in 1984, 1986 and 1993) and lived in Inzing. In the field of sports, Bernhard Ernst was involved in the Tyrolean and Austrian Wrestling Association from 1998 to 2008, among other things as President. On December 8th, 2012, Bernhard Ernst suffered a heart attack.
