Bernhard Gustav Wilhelm Graf Finck von Finckenstein (born December 26, 1863 in Frankfurt an der Oder , † September 6, 1945 in Potsdam ) was a German infantry general .

Life

His parents were Lieutenant Colonel Konrad Ernst Maximilian Finck von Finckenstein (* December 12, 1820 - February 2, 1884) and his wife, Countess Mathilde Caroline Alexandrine von Wartensleben (* April 18, 1835 - May 15, 1918), a daughter of General Gustav von Wartensleben .

From February 20, 1909 to July 3, 1913, Finck von Finckenstein commanded the Guard Rifle Battalion . From July 4, 1913 to September 9, 1914, he was in command of the Kaiser Alexander Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 1 . During the First World War , among other things, he led the 4th Guard Division as commander until it was dissolved at the end of the war. Finck von Finckenstein was awarded the Order Pour le Mérite on April 9, 1918 .

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Tannenberg on August 27, 1939, he was awarded the character of General of the Infantry.
