Bernhard Friedrich Kühl (born August 7, 1808 in Malchow ; † 1882 ) was a council pharmacist in Rostock .

His father Michael Friedrich Kühl († 1836) was a pharmacist in Malchow and in 1818 acquired the Ratsapotheke Rostock for 40,000 Reichstaler from the son of the late pharmacist Jacob Christoph Mähl (1757-1818) after the city had waived its right of first refusal.

Bernhard Friedrich Kühl took over the council pharmacy after his father's death. He expanded it to include a commercial enterprise in which he produced cocoa preparations, chocolate and artificial mineral waters. From 1844 to 1846 Friedrich Gaedcke , who became famous for isolating cocaine as an active ingredient , completed an apprenticeship as a pharmacist in Kühl's Ratsapotheke.

In 1872 the first uniform pharmacopoeia, the Pharmacopoea Germanica , came into force by official decree.

His eldest son, Johann Friedrich Kühl (1837–1909) studied pharmacy in Berlin and Rostock and traveled to Italy, France and Switzerland. In 1864 he acquired Rostock citizenship and was registered as an authorized signatory , in 1866 he took over the council pharmacy in the third generation, which he ran until 1877.
