Bernhard Gentsch

Bernhard Gentsch (born February 26, 1936 in Glauchau ; † February 4, 2016 in Radebeul ) was a German historian , journalist and librarian .

He studied librarianship and history. At the Pedagogical University Dresden he received his doctorate in 1979, Dr. phil. with the dissertation The class struggle of the rural subjects in the Ore Mountains and Vogtland in the 17th century . He worked as a freelance journalist and librarian in Dresden . a. Publications in the daily press on various topics of contemporary history and foreign policy of the GDR. He also published poems, aphorisms, short stories and fables.

Gentsch suffered from polio, which severely handicapped him, especially towards the end of his life.
