The Forth Bank Stadium is a football stadium in the Scottish town of Stirling . It is the sporting home of the Stirling Albion , who currently play in the fourth-rate Scottish League Two . The facility is owned and managed by the Stirling Council Area .
history
The name goes back to the first football stadium in Stirling, the Forthbank Park , named after the river Forth and destroyed in 1940 during World War II . The venue currently offers 3,808 seats, including 2,508 seats on the two tiers along the pitch. The sports facility opened in 1993, replacing Annfield Stadium , which was the Albion's venue from 1945 to 1993 . The new stadium is located on the western outskirts, north of the business park Springkerse Industrial Estate .
The stadium now has four stands and a floodlight system ; it was not until the mid-1990s that the back-door stands were built. The main stand (west) as well as the opposite stand (east) are equipped with red plastic seats in the club color. The club offices and the catering area are located in the main grandstand . The east stand houses press rooms , the police control room and holding cells . Around 1,000 seats are available in the east stand for the guest fans. If more space is needed, an additional 500 standing places can be used on the south tier. The two tiers behind the gates are small standing stands that are equipped with breakwaters .
