Bernhard Meuser (publicist)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bernhard Meuser (born December 30, 1953 ) is a Roman Catholic publicist and publisher and lives in Augsburg.

Life

Meuser was the head of Pattloch Verlag until 2011 and subsequently managing director at Sankt Ulrich Verlag from July 2011 to August 2013 .

He has emerged with numerous publications on spirituality and lived Christianity , which are particularly aimed at younger readers. In doing so, he avoids theological terminology and the fixation on internal church problems and emphasizes the agreement with the church's teaching office .

One of his main concerns is the new evangelization , which he wants to promote with the German edition of the Catholic youth catechism YouCat , which he initiated in 2011 , the YouCat center in Augsburg, which he has directed since May 2012, and subsequent journalistic projects. Meuser advocates closer cooperation between Catholics and Evangelicals and a revitalization of the Christian concept of mission . Together with Johannes Hartl and Karl Wallner , he published the so-called Mission Manifesto in 2018 , which was intended to further initiate and broaden this movement.
