Bernhard Rüth (* 1955 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German archivist who heads the district archive of Rottweil as head of department. He is the author, editor or editor of publications on folklore, regional and art history in Southwest Germany .

Life

Rüth is the district archivist for the Rottweil district . He is the head of the Archive - Culture - Tourism department in the Rottweil District Office, in which the district archive has been integrated since 2005. He is also responsible for the art collection of the Rottweil district.

From 2003 to 2018 Rüth was editor of the book series "Documenta suevica", a series of editions by the Upper Swabian Electricity Works Association (OEW) for sources on regional history between the Black Forest, Alb and Lake Constance. As an art expert, he is also responsible for the OEW's purchasing policy, which has its own regional art collection.

In 2019 he was one of the curators of the touring exhibition "Bella Figura" with works of figurative art from the art collection of the OEW in the Dominican Museum in Rottweil , which was previously shown at the company headquarters in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. Rüth works on a voluntary basis as chairman of the sponsoring association for youth art schools based in Rottweil and a member of the Rottweil Lions Club, which founded the “Kreisel” youth art school in 2002.
