Bernhard Schmid (organist, 1567)

Bernhard Schmid , also referred to in the literature as Bernhard Schmid the Younger , (* 1567 in Strasbourg ; † 1625 , before November 5, ibid) was a German composer and organist in Strasbourg.

Schmid was the son of the composer and organist of the same name, Bernhard Schmid the Elder . From 1589 to 1592 he was his father's successor as organist at the St. Thomas Church in Strasbourg . In 1592, after the death of his father, he became organist in the Strasbourg cathedral instead .

Schmid published the following organ works: Tablature book from all handicapped unread beautiful lovely Praeludijs. (Strasbourg, 1607).
