The city watercolourist sees himself in the footsteps of William Turner's Venice works, the Viennese Kurt Moldovan as well as those of the German auarellistik pioneers Klaus Fußmann , Karl-Heinz Fichthorst and Oskar Koller . Vogel's “mystical” layered watercolors were innovative and responsible for his art market success.
