Bernhard Wedler

Bernhard Wedler (born March 23, 1895 in Wesseling , † August 15, 1975 in Berlin ) was a German civil engineer .

From 1934 to 1945 he headed the test center for static calculations of the Prussian Building and Finance Directorate and was a consultant for civil engineering issues for the building police and building administration in the Prussian Ministry of the Interior.

Wedler was the chairman of the German Committee for Reinforced Concrete from 1947 to 1973. This was due to the fact that West Germany had agreed that the presidency should lie with the magistrate or senate administration for building and housing in Berlin. He was a valued expert and had a great influence on the standardization in terms of content.

From 1950 he headed the building technology subdivision in the Federal Ministry for Housing in Bonn, where he also campaigned for funds to be made available for building research. He had the title of professor and was a ministerial advisor .

In 1952 he received the Emil Mörsch Memorial Medal . Wedler was an honorary doctor . From 1945 to 1950 he published the concrete calendar .
