Bernhard Welz (chemist)

Bernhard Welz (born October 5, 1936 in Augsburg ; † June 3, 2018 in Florianópolis , Brazil ) was a German chemist who worked as a chemistry professor in Brazil . He was the author of numerous publications in the field of atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS).

Life

Bernhard Welz studied chemistry at the Technical University of Munich and later did his doctorate at the University of Stuttgart , where he received the academic degree Dr. rer. nat. received. Between 1967 and 1998 he worked as an analyst and research manager in the field of atomic spectrometry at PerkinElmer ( Überlingen ).

Welz accepted a position as visiting professor at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) in 1999 and has since lived in Florianópolis (Brazil), where he taught instrumental analysis and AAS.
