The Bernhardi Heights are a mostly snow-covered mountain range in the East Antarctic Coatsland with mountain peaks of up to 1220  m . They are east of the Schimper Glacier in the Herbert Mountains of the Shackleton Range .

The United States Navy took its first aerial photographs in 1967. From 1968 to 1971 the British Antarctic Survey carried out a geodetic survey of the area. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the Heights in 1971 after the German geologist Albrecht Reinhard Bernhardi (1797–1849), who in 1832 was the first to recognize the former extent of the Arctic ice sheet based on boulders and moraines in northern Germany.
