Bernie Hayward
Bernie Hayward (actually Bernard Louis Hayward; born February 10, 1949 ) is a former British obstacle , medium and long distance runner .
Starting for Wales , he finished seventh over the 3000 m obstacle at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 . In 1974 he was sixth in the same discipline at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch ; over 1500 m and over 5000 m he was eliminated in the preliminary run.
He was three times Welsh champion over 3000 m obstacle (1969, 1973 and 1975) and once over 1500 m (1970). In 1971 he was the English indoor champion over 2000 m obstacle.
