The Bernsteinsee is a gravel lake in the district of Western Pomerania-Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The body of water lies west of the Ribnitz-Damgarten district of Körkwitz , 800 meters from the Saaler Bodden . It has a size of 13 hectares and a maximum extension of 900 by 240 meters. A municipal boundary runs through the lake. The larger eastern part, in which there is also a small island, is in the urban area of Ribnitz-Damgarten, the western part in the municipal area of Dierhagen . The Körkwitzer Bach runs south .
The lake has no above-ground inflows and outflows and was created by the accumulation of groundwater in a gravel mine. After gravel mining and renaturation are complete, the area will be used for tourism. A water ski system was installed on the lake .
