Bert Jordan
Bert Jordan (* 5. May 1887 in Liverpool as Albert Adrian Jordan ; † 10. September 1983 in Los Angeles , California ) was a British - American film editor .
life and career
Born in England, Bert Jordan had been working as a film editor in Hal Roach's film studios since the early 1930s . In this role he was responsible for editing many short and feature films by Laurel and Hardy , some of which are considered to be among the best quality of the comedian duo. Jordan also worked as an editor for seven short films by Die Kleine Trolche .
After Laurel and Hardy left Roach Studios, Jordan worked on a few B-Movies in the 1940s before joining the new medium of television towards the end of his career. In 1962 he retired from the film business after working on the television series The Real McCoys .
Bert Jordan died in Los Angeles in 1983 at the age of 96.
