Bert Kuehne

Bert Kühne (born February 2, 1933 ) is a country musician and solo entertainer from the Lint plain in Switzerland . He is entitled to live in Kaltbrunn .

The son of an innkeeper in an alpine inn near Rieden received a Schwyzerörgeli from his father . Later he bought a chromatic accordion and played for 8 years in the Ländlerkapelle Alpina, Niederurnen . For many years he was an innkeeper in the Linde restaurant in Wattwil , a father of a family and then a piano tuner in Toggenburg, and returned to the Lint plain in old age. Since then he has lived in his home parish.

At the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1990 he composed and performed the marching song “S 'Fäscht gaht los” (The festival begins). He dedicated another marching song entitled “S 'Tante Idi vo Züri ” to his sister Ida. Bert Kühne created a total of around 200 of his own compositions. Although he mainly appeared as a solo entertainer - including singing - he released long-playing records with him and other country musicians. Among these were the clarinetists Carlo Brunner and Fritz Dünner and the piano player Hans Frey .
