Berthe Dagmar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Berthe Dagmar , born in Albertine Blanche Augusta Marie Hamon , (born January 24, 1881 in Agon-Coutainville , † January 20, 1934 in Paris ) was a French actress .

Life

Dagmar, like many early film actors, had originally come from the circus, where she had performed as an acrobat and tamer . From 1910 to 1914, she appeared almost exclusively in films by her husband, director Jean Durand, in adventurous and comical subjects; in addition to her own series, which was named "Dagmar" after its stage name, also with Joe Hamman in the earliest westerns and in the series around the character "Onésime". After the First World War , a series of films about "Marie", played by Dagmar, appeared in 1922; otherwise their appearances were quite rare. She was last seen on screen in 1929.
