Berthold Heitz

Berthold Heitz (born June 3, 1900 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ; † October 25, 1987 there ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Heitz attended the Ludwigshafen-Friesenheim elementary school from 1907 to 1915 and from 1915 did an apprenticeship as a machine and tool maker. In 1918 he was a soldier in the First World War . He then worked in various companies as a locksmith before completing an apprenticeship as a machine technician at the technical college in Mannheim with a degree from 1927–1930. In 1931 he became an independent laundry owner and in 1936 passed the master's examination as a washer and flaker master. In 1939 he was again in military service for a short time .

politics

In 1950 Heitz became a member of the FDP and was chairman of the FDP district association in Ludwigshafen from 1956 to 1961, and later he became honorary chairman. In local politics he was active as a member of the Ludwigshafen City Council from 1952 to 1974.

In 1963 he was not elected to the fifth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , but on October 5, 1964 he replaced Eduard Schmurr in the state parliament, to which he belonged until 1967. In the state parliament he was a member of the border region committee and the economic and transport committee.
