Berthold II von Bogen

Berthold II. (* Around 1125; † March 21, 1167 ) was a count of Bogen and Windberg; Vogt of Oberaltaich, Windberg andprüfunging.

He was the son and heir of Count Albert II von Bogen-Windberg (* 1200, † 1164) and his wife from his second marriage; Hedwig of Weimar-Istria († December 1, 1162).

Berthold II was Count von Bogen-Windberg in 1146 and continued his father's disputes against the bishops of Regensburg and Passau, the dukes of Bavaria and the margravial cousins. He promoted the settlement of the border forest areas and was Vogt of Niederaltaich, Regensburg, Passau ,prüfung and Windberg.

Marriage and offspring

Berthold II von Bogen was married twice, first with Mathilde von Formbach († November 7, 1160), daughter of Ekbert II von Formbach and in his second marriage with Liutgard von Burghausen (* 1145; † December 24, 1195), daughter of Count Gebhard I. von Burghausen .

Children from second marriage with Liutgard von Burghausen (* 1145 - 24 December 1195):

  • Albert III (* July 19, 1165; † December 20, 1197), Count von Bogen, ∞ Ludmilla von Böhmen (* around 1170; † August 4, 1240 in Landshut). Daughter of Frederick of Bohemia .
  • Hedwig († June 13, 1188), ∞ Ekbert Graf von Deggendorf (* 1153; † January 19, 1200)
