Albert II of Bogen

Albert II. (Also known as Adalbert II. ) († January 13, 1146 ) was a Count of Bogen and Windberg, Count in the Donaugau, Vogt of Regensburg, Checking and Windberg.

He was the son and heir of Count Albert I von Bogen-Windberg († July 27, 1100) and his wife Liutgard von Diessen. Daughter of Domvogt Friedrich II of Regensburg.

In 1125 he supported Lothar III. von Supplinburg in the war of the German throne as an imperial military leader against Bohemia, Frisians and Hungary. He supported the Guelphs against the Hohenstaufen in the war. Around 1140 he founded the Windberg Monastery with his wife Hedwig and he went to the battle of Valley .

Marriage and offspring

Albert II von Bogen was married twice. His first marriage is unknown. His second marriage was around 1123 with Hedwig (Hadwig) von Windberg (* around 1090 † December 1, 1162) from the house of Weimar-Orlamünde , widow of Hermann I von Winzenburg , Count of Windberg-Ratelberg-Winzenburg (Formbach), daughter closed by Poppo II of Weimar-Orlamünde , Margrave of Carniola and Istria.
