Owned by the Counts of Peilstein and Burghausen-Schala at the end of the 12th century.

The family of the Counts of Burghausen-Schala is a branch line of the Sieghardinger family and is derived from Count Friedrich I. von Tengling . His sons Sieghart I and Friedrich II founded the Burghausen-Schala and Peilstein lines . His son Heinrich I was Bishop of Freising .

The Counts of Burghausen died out in 1168, the Counts of Schala in 1191/92 .
