Life

Heinrich was the third son of Markwart IV of Eppenstein and the Liutbirg von Plain , daughter of Count Liutold II.

When his brother Liutold died childless in 1090 , he was entrusted with the Duchy of Carinthia by Emperor Heinrich IV . Henry III. was married three times:
