Bertil Edlund

Bertil Edlund (* 1933 ) is a Swedish auditor and benefactor .

Life

Edlund studied at the Stockholm School of Economics until he obtained a Master of Science degree .

He was Chairman of Öhrling PricewaterhouseCoopers , the largest accounting firm in Sweden, and the Swedish Institute of Authorized Public Accountants (FAR). He worked for the Swedish Commerce and Industry Stock Exchange Committee (NBK) and Sweden's Association for the Development of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Redovisningsrådet). He was Vice President from 1987 to 1990 and President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) from 1990 to 1992 . In 1993 he and Sten Lundvall received the EFI Research Award for the book Redovisningens roller .

Edlund is the namesake of the Bertil Edlund Foundation (with a fortune equivalent to 1 million euros), which advocates the auditing profession and awards the Bertil Edlund Scholarship. The scholarship entitles business students to stay at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York.

He is a board member of the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research Institute and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences .
