Bertl Schultes
Albert "Bertl" Schultes (born December 13, 1881 in Munich-Schwabing ; † March 10, 1964 there ) was a German stage and film actor .
Live and act
Schultes felt connected to Ludwig Thomas's work from an early age and had played on peasant stages since the turn of the century. When the film brought him in front of the camera, Schultes was accordingly cast in almost entirely white and blue fabrics with a rural and alpine background. In 1924 he followed the Bavarian director Franz Osten for several film projects in India to serve as an interpreter for Osten. In 1932, 1933/34 and 1939 Schultes also worked alongside the most famous mountain filmmaker Luis Trenker (in The Rebel , The Prodigal Son and The Fire Devil ).
After the Second World War, Albert “Bertl” Schultes belonged to the Peter Ostermayr production line-up for a number of years (early 1950s) and embodied gnarled alpine farmers and rustic Bavarians in a number of Ludwig Ganghofer films. Bertl Schultes was seen several times in mayor roles, but he also played other officials. Most recently, the Munich resident appeared in two comedies of the "Two Bavarians in ..." series at the side of Joe Stöckel and Beppo Brem .
