Bertold Konrad Jochim (born January 21, 1921 in Herxheim near Landau / Pfalz , † 2002 ) was a German writer and the founder of the booklet series Der Landser .

Life

After Jochim graduated from high school , he was drafted at the beginning of World War II and served as a fighter pilot . He became an officer candidate in France , but was demoted because of a liaison with a French woman. During the war he became a sergeant major .

After the war, Jochim studied journalism . In addition to his journalistic work for a regional newspaper in Baden, he wrote romance novels for magazine series. In the 1950s he began to write “aviator stories” designed for young readers. In 1957 he brought the booklet series Der Landser onto the market in cooperation with Erich Pabel Verlag . The series of novels was repeatedly accused of endangering young people, so far eleven Landser issues have been indexed .

Jochim worked as an editor, but also wrote under his own name and under the pseudonyms "Hans Holl", "H. Bergmann ”and“ HP Hagen ”. He suffered all his life from the bad image of the Landser series and tried to polish up the image of the magazine. That's why he gave the series a more documentary look.

He was succeeded by Guntram Schulze-Wegener .
