Bertram Pohl

Bertram Pohl (born August 1, 1871 in Scheven , † after 1932) was a German politician ( VRP ).

Life

Pohl was an officer in the Prussian Army and served in the 1st Rhenish Pioneer Battalion No. 8 in Koblenz . He attended the fortress construction school and then worked on the construction of fortifications in Cologne , Cuxhaven and Ulm . He was a design consultant for the Berlin engineering committee for fortifications on Heligoland and on the coast, as well as the construction manager of large fortifications and buildings. During the First World War he was used as a soldier on the Western Front.

After the end of the war, Pohl continued his work on the engineering committee, most recently as a major in the Army Equipment Office in Berlin . He then worked as a civil servant in the Reichsbauverwaltung. Furthermore, he was the founder of the protective savings banks of the aggrieved mortgage creditors and savers, founder of the cooperatives mbH in the Rhineland and editor-in-chief of the weekly Der Rheinische Sparer . He lived in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel .

In May 1928 Pohl was elected to the Prussian state parliament as a member of the Reich Party for People's Law and Appreciation (VRP) , to which he belonged until 1932 as a member of the German parliamentary group. In parliament he represented constituency 22 (Düsseldorf-West).
