Bertram Zwerschke

Bertram Zwerschke (* 1956 in Parchim ) is a German choir director .

Life

Zwerschke was born in Parchim in 1956 and received piano and singing lessons at a young age . From 1971 to 1975 he completed the special music class at EOS Gerhart Hauptmann , which later became the Wernigerode State High School for Music . After studying at the Martin Luther University , where he was also a member of the Halle Madrigalists , he returned to the state high school as a teacher and in 1981 took over the Wernigerode girls' choir , which he directed until 2009. He then founded the former vocal ensemble Phonova Wernigerode, which consists of former singers from the radio youth choir Wernigerode and the girls' choir . In a transitional period he briefly took over the leadership of the radio youth choir Wernigerode . Zwerschke continues to work in regional associations as a juror in advanced training, choral conducting and voice training.

Zwerschke led the girls' choir to great national and international success over the past 30 years and shaped the choir decisively. Under his leadership, the choir received, among other things, a special prize for the best interpretation of a folk song in the 7th German Choir Competition in Kiel , won the gold medal in the category 'Youth Choirs of Equal Voices' at the Choir Olympics in Linz and produced six recordings ( CDs ). In addition, the girls' choir has made several concert tours through France, Switzerland, Scotland and Poland. His conducting career was shaped by Friedrich Krell and Siegfried Bimberg , among others .
