Bertrand Alibert

Bertrand Alibert (born October 27, 1775 in Villeneuve-d'Agen , Lot-et-Garonne department , † October 1, 1808 in Moulins , Allier department ) was a French engineer.

Life

Alibert was trained at the École polytechnique in Paris and at the École nationale des ponts et chaussees .

In 1798 Alibert became a member of the Commission des sciences et des arts , which accompanied Napoleon Bonaparte on his Egyptian campaign . He was also involved in the creation and publication of the Description de l'Égypte .

In the winter of 1801/02 Alibert returned to France and settled in Paris for a few years. He spent the last years of his life in Moulins. He died shortly before his 33rd birthday and found his final resting place there.
